Meet Our Coaches

Director of Lady Warhawks / Ridgevue High Varsity Head Coach / 16U Head Coach
Michael Samms
I am currently the head softball coach for Ridgevue High School and the Director of the Lady Warhawks Softball Program. I have been playing some version of this game since I was 4 and have fallen in love with coaching. My coaching philosophy is centered around helping each athlete find their passion in this game and driving them to push themselves to achieve their goals. Seeing an athlete love this game brings me back to the love I have for it. Whether you are the greatest athlete in the world or just learning this game, there is a spot for you with us in this program and this Warhawk family.

Ridgevue Varsity Coach
Steven Budine
Also known as “Coach B”. I am entering my 5th year as a coach for the Ridgevue High School Varsity softball program. I’ve been in love with this sport ever since my dad places a baseball in my hand when I was just a toddler. I have left blood, sweat, and tears on the diamond as I have lived for the game. Now more than ever coaching softball and getting an opportunity to coach our young student athletes by teaching them the ways of the game is truly a blessing that I am thank fully each and every day. Coaching is a passion now in which I thrive on every day. My coaching philosophy would be leaving NO regrets. Show up for work every day and work hard. Be a good teammate. Don’t hang your head. Next play mentality. If you can do that, you will excel in this program with the cached that will have your back untill you last out. That’s a guarantee. Go Warhawks!

Ridgevue Varsity Catching Coach
Macy Walker
I'm originally from Utah. I've played softball my entire life, continuing through college where I played in Oregon. This past year, I had the privilege of being the head coach for our 14u team and an assistant coach for our 16u team. I'm excited to be coaching for the high school this coming season. My coaching philosophy emphasizes that softball is 80% mental. I strive to show my players that they are a huge asset to the team, no matter what their role is. By fostering a positive and supportive environment, I aim to help each player build their confidence and understand the importance of their contributions to the team's success.
